A wonderful trip (from Pula) I’ve been back home for a week now, but I’m still thinking about our sailing boat.⛵☀️ It was an incredibly great experience and certainly not the last trip! A perfect mix of learning to sail, crystal-clear bays, delicious food and the odd games evening.”

Possible itinerary Istria tour: Discover the sailing trip!

DAY 1 – Saturday

You arrive at the marina in Pula full of anticipation. Between 2 and 4 p.m. you finally meet your crew for the next few days. Together you set up the yacht and get the food for the week. Saturday is an organization day and a day to get to know each other, usually you leave the marina on Sunday. Now the adventure of a sailing vacation around Istria can begin. In the evening you go to a restaurant and discuss the sailing route. Excited about the next few days, you fall into your bed on board the sailing yacht for the first time in the evening.

DAY 2 – Sunday

You listen intently to the skipper as he or she shows you the most important maneuvers on board. With the help of your fellow sailors, you cast off for the first time and set off in the direction of Rabac, a small Croatian town. In the east of the Istrian peninsula, it offers a wonderful view of your destination for the next few days: the islands of Kvarner Bay.

DAY 3 – Monday

In the morning, you take the opportunity to explore the historical sight of Teleferika, a spectacular ruined harbor. Before you return on board, you can grab a coffee in the small village. Today you continue to Martinscica on the island of Cres. You notice how confident you feel when sailing and help out with some maneuvers all by yourself. Relax on deck at the end of the evening and enjoy the tranquillity of the beautiful bay at Martinscica.

DAY 4 – Tuesday

After a morning dip in the water, you get the yacht ready to cast off. The journey continues to the next spectacular bay, which surpasses anything you have seen before. After a short sail, you anchor in the impressive Maracol bay on the sheltered eastern side of the island of Unije. Here you can relax and let the sun shine on your back. After a relaxing day in the water and on board, you cook a typical Croatian meal together and treat yourselves to a glass of wine.

DAY 5 – Wednesday

Depending on your sailing mood, today you will take the route to the island of Premuda. There you can moor in a great marina right in the town center and visit a restaurant on the waterfront. Alternatively, you can take a more relaxed approach and take a shorter route to Mali Losinj. The town is known for its large natural harbor and offers a great opportunity to explore Croatian city life. Let yourself be enchanted by the streets and stroll along the wide promenade.

DAY 6 – Thursday

Today you sail to the last island of your trip: the small island of Susak. Once you arrive in the small fishing village, you pack a snack and hike the path to the island’s lighthouse to enjoy an impressive view. On your way back, the sun begins to set and casts beautiful colors on the sky. Once you arrive back on the yacht, you drop into the hammock, watch the last rays of sunshine and decide to spend the night on deck to sleep in the open air.

DAY 7 – Friday

On the last sailing day of your cruise, you put your all into it and show your skipper what you have learned. Full of pride in your sailing skills, you’ll lead the yacht together as a crew. You head back towards Pula and reach the marina between 3 and 6 pm. Together you enjoy the last evening on board, review the week and enjoy the friendships you have made with your fellow sailors.

DAY 8 – Saturday

Now the sailing trip around Istria is coming to an end and you are eagerly looking forward to the next one. You relax on Saturday and have breakfast on board for the last time. Then you leave the yacht by 9 a.m. with many memories and new pleasures, and you are no longer new to sailing. Now only one question remains: “When will we set sail again?”
