Possible Itinerary: Discover the Sailing Trip around Mallorca!
7 Days Sailing Mallorca.

DAY 1 – Saturday
You’ll meet your crew at the harbor in Palma between 2 and 4 p.m. for your skippered sailing trip in Mallorca. After check-in around 5 p.m., you’ll discuss your route and adjust it to your group and the weather conditions. You can also share your wishes later on during the trip. After the safety briefing, you’ll shop together for the essentials for your sailing week. There’s plenty of time left – perfect for a stroll through the old town. How beautifully the afternoon sun is shining! Now, where’s the nearest café?!

DAY 2 – Sunday
You’re setting sail! While sailing in Mallorca, you’ll learn the basics and other important information from your skipper. Today’s sailing leg takes you to Es Trenc beach, a small harbor town in the south of Mallorca. You can choose between swimming at the sandy beach or diving straight into the azure waters from the boat. Swimming. Sunbathing. Relaxing. . And then it all starts again. The day flies by.

DAY 3 – Monday
From Es Trenc, the route takes you to Porto Cristo, a beautiful harbor town. White villas and charming stone houses shape the cityscape. A short walk through the old town is definitely worth it. Before arriving, you’ll make a stop at Cala Magrana Bay, which is surrounded by smaller coves and lagoons. First, you relax in the sun, then head off with your fellow sailors to explore the area.

DAY 4 – Tuesday
Your skipper has a real insider tip: the harbor of Porto Petro in the southeast of the island. This quiet, peaceful fishing village lies far from mass tourism. Small cafés by the harbor and restaurants serving local specialties invite you to relax and indulge. On top of that, this sailing leg offers you a breathtaking view of Mallorca’s southern coast. The Mediterranean shines in a sensational blue. Let’s go – time for a swim stop!

DAY 5 – Wednesday
You’re sailing to Cabrera, the largest offshore Balearic island south of Mallorca. As one of the last natural paradises in the Mediterranean, it’s home to many bird species and has been declared a national park. From the harbor, you’ll set off on a hike to explore the lush nature and the island’s various inhabitants. In a small bay, you’ll enjoy the panoramic sea view and let your soul unwind.

DAY 6 – Thursday
Today, your skipper takes you to one of the five most beautiful bays in Mallorca: Cala Pi. Its white sandy beach gently slopes into the azure waters – a truly stunning spot! Yet the bay is often deserted, as it’s hard to reach from land. Naturally, you’ll want to explore the vibrant underwater world of Cala Pi right away. In the evening, you’ll be anchored in the bay, enjoying dinner under a sparkling starry sky.

DAY 7 – Friday
You set course back to the starting marina, where you’ll dock between 3 and 6 PM. One last chance to soak up the fresh breeze and the sun along Mallorca’s coastline! “What an amazing week,” you think to yourself, already looking forward to a cozy dinner together at the restaurant. You’ll share stories of dreamy bays and sunny beaches – and most of all, memories of your time together on the yacht off Mallorca’s south coast.

DAY 8 – Saturday
You’ve had an amazing sailing holiday and even made a few new friends. So you decide to stroll through the town together a bit longer and walk along the famous staircase street “Gli Scaloni” with its characteristically long, shallow steps. “Ciao, ciao,” “see you again soon” – and then it’s time to catch your flight back home. Maybe you’ll be back for another sailing adventure with us in Mallorca very soon?

Sailing Mallorca from Palma
Baltic Sea or Mallorca? When you think of a holiday in Mallorca, beautiful seas and great weather all year round come to mind. The Mediterranean island offers a wide range of activities and sights, such as the Cathedral of Palma, making it perfect for solo travelers, groups, or families. And if you think Mallorca is just about Ballermann and Palma de Mallorca, you haven’t truly discovered the island yet.
Because: the best way to discover Mallorca’s most beautiful sides is on a sailing holiday with a skipper. Far from mass tourism, sailing in Mallorca lets you experience the island’s stunning nature while visiting the most picturesque bays and harbor towns – whether you prefer relaxed swimming and snorkeling, diving, or simply unwinding on the beach. A one-week sailing trip with a skipper from Palma de Mallorca is perfect for anyone wanting to explore and experience the Balearic Islands. Even Dieter Bohlen has known this for years, regularly heading to Port d’Andratx on a sailing yacht. Other gems lie along the southeast coast of Mallorca, just 45 kilometers from Palma’s harbor, including the tourist town of Cala d’Or. Or you can charter a yacht to explore one of the neighboring islands – be it Menorca, Ibiza, or the nearby Dragonera Island.

The beautiful south of Mallorca
Before more questions arise, let’s get the facts straight: your sailing trip in Mallorca takes you to Spain. Translated, Mallorca means “larger island” – rightly so, as it is the biggest island of the Balearic group. The Balearic Islands include Menorca, Cabrera, Ibiza, and Formentera, as well as 146 other uninhabited islands. During your sailing adventure around Mallorca, you’ll pass by the well-known beaches in the south. You may have already heard of Es Trenc and its vast salt flats. A popular souvenir among our fellow sailors is a pouch of Mallorcan sea salt, often brought back on board. The conditions for swimming and snorkeling are ideal, as the sea shimmers in stunning shades of turquoise and the natural beach is regularly cleared of seaweed. It has a bit of a Caribbean vibe – sparsely developed and with plenty of open space. All that’s missing are the coconut palms! From April to October, Es Trenc is never overcrowded, not even in the peak of summer. Time seems to stand still there. Sailing along the southern coast, you’ll fall under the spell of Cala Figuera – a charming place known for its beaches and considered one of the most beautiful spots on Earth.

“Learn to sail and fall in love with Mallorca and its contrasts!”
That’s how travel agencies advertise. Now you have the chance to experience this diversity yourself in Mallorca. About €130 per week – is that enough? When booking a vacation, people look at price vs. value, and want as much included as possible. That’s why all-inclusive trips or renting holiday homes in Mallorca are so popular. Or grabbing a last-minute deal. But: joining a sailing trip in Mallorca is one of the best and most affordable travel options. And that goes for sailing trips in general. It starts with flexible arrival – you decide and book your own flights. Palma de Mallorca is located very close to the airport: only 14 kilometers separate the airport and the marina.
We sail in Mallorca starting from Palma. Many coastal towns offer you a varied program ashore and tell stories of the rich culture of the Mediterranean island. Let’s start in the north with Port de Sóller. Along the route between Andratx/Port Andratx and Pollença, it’s the only sheltered harbor — home to an impressive 80 hotels, restaurants, and bars. Sóller and the harbor of Port de Sóller offer plenty of nature and sights to see: above all, the orange, lemon, and olive groves framed by massive mountain ranges. A visit is well worth it when sailing in Mallorca! Art lovers exploring the old town will discover architectural highlights for their trip. The years under French and colonial influence are just as visible as the traces of modernism.
The Most Beautiful Bays on a Sailing Trip
Starting from Palma, the first place to mention is the port of Puerto Portals. Located in the Bay of Palma, it is the most famous marina, water sports, and leisure facility in the entire Mediterranean. Nothing comparable can be found on the neighboring islands.
A yacht takes you further along the southern coast of Mallorca. For years, Mallorca has been nicknamed “the island of the Germans,” but it is the destination for sunseekers and water sports enthusiasts. Mallorca – especially Palma de Mallorca – is perfect for travel not only in summer but also in September thanks to its sunny and stable weather conditions. Es Trenc beach is one of the top beaches in Europe. It is the island’s longest natural beach and is located in the south. White sand, dunes, and small beach bars give it a Caribbean vibe. Did you know that the name “Chiringuito” supposedly comes from Cuba, where a type of espresso – the “Chiringo” – used to be sold at such kiosks? This destination is particularly suitable for families, as the gently sloping water is ideal for swimming with children.
You should also plan to anchor at Playa de Alcudia during your sailing route. Here, too, you’ll find fine white sand and shallow waters – but with all the amenities of a holiday resort. Along the promenade, you’ll discover numerous small shops, tapas bars, and restaurants offering local food and drinks for just a few euros, as well as more upscale dining options near the marina.

As beautiful as Cala Formentor
Heading northeast, another beach ranks among Mallorca’s most beautiful natural beaches. Its location is already stunning – nestled in the forest and surrounded by a mountain range. The water shines in crystal-clear turquoise hues. The beach may only be just over a kilometer long, but the hotel Formentor, perched above it, is known worldwide thanks to two of its famous guests: Winston Churchill and John Wayne spent time here, enjoying the view over the Bay of Pollenca. What a service! A beach day here can also be perfectly combined with a visit to Cap Formentor, the northeasternmost point of Mallorca.
Dragonera in the Southwest
Next to Cap Blanc, with its rugged cliffs, limestone terrain, and the distinctive “garrigue” landscape teeming with reptiles and mammals, Sa Dragonera is one of the top insider tips for your days on a yacht charter. You don’t have to sail far from Mallorca to reach the island – and yes, there’s even a boat taxi from Sant Elm. Completely uninhabited and protected as a natural park, Dragonera is famous for its native lizards and large seabird colonies. Thanks to the island’s sheltered position, many birds use it as a breeding ground. Hikers will find well-preserved trails leading through untouched wilderness, and divers are drawn to the rich underwater life. Truth be told – there’s nothing on Dragonera. No cafés, no crowds, no Wi-Fi. Just mastic bushes, nesting birds, an old lighthouse and the Dragonera lizard. But that’s exactly what makes this detour so rewarding: disconnecting from emails, meetings, and notifications – and immersing yourself in one of Mallorca’s most peaceful sailing spots.
Catamaran or Yacht Charter Sun Odyssey?
It belongs to the first-class yachts. With a length of just over ten meters, it offers everything a sailor’s heart desires: comfort and innovative technologies. On the Sun Odyssey 5 yacht, the “5” indicates the number of cabins. In general, there is plenty of space for up to eleven crew members. It’s a dream to jump into the vast sea from such a yacht and enjoy snorkeling in the world’s largest pool. You anchor in the bay of your dreams and enjoy the seclusion. These yachts – like catamarans – are generally offered as skippered sailing yachts. You won’t find this elegant yacht for charter in the North or Baltic Sea, but you will see it in Mallorca and Ibiza. Additionally, booking and inquiries are possible in Turkey, Italy (including Sardinia), Croatia, Thailand, Greece, the Canary Islands, Corsica, the Aeolian Islands and Sicily, and the Seychelles, as well as throughout the Atlantic. In general, the triangle of Mallorca, Ibiza, and Menorca promises an unforgettable Balearic holiday.
Sailing in Mallorca
Make your holiday active: Learn to sail or join a sailing trip – what do you prefer? While doing watersports or active sailing in Mallorca, you’ll discover a diverse underwater world in the coastal bays: stone corals, groupers, and seagrass meadows await you. Sometimes octopuses and moray eels hide in the grottos. And who would have thought: especially around the Bay of Palma, the many leisure activities and the beautiful beach are worth a visit. From the sea, you can already see the famous Cathedral of Palma shining in the distance.
Learning to sail in your free time, on holiday, during a dreamlike day at sea – it doesn’t get any better than this. Because sailing in Mallorca on a sailing yacht means being active while relaxing on board: join us and discover a different bay each day along the southeast or north coast of Mallorca. However you look at it, learning to sail in Mallorca on one of our yachts is easy. On the contrary – around Mallorca we enjoy good wind and a pleasant climate with excellent weather conditions all year round.
Mallorca is a gem for sailors.
Now the question naturally arises: why should you learn to sail in Mallorca of all places? Many sailors recommend choosing a beautiful location to start learning. Considering Arenal, Ratjada & Co., the parties, and the wide range of package holidays available, you might wonder whether a quieter destination would be the better choice. We believe: joining a sailing trip from Mallorca offers stunning coastlines, clear waters, and long, sandy beaches. Did you know the southeast coast is known for its golden beaches and picturesque coastal towns? Or that Port de Sóller is a beautiful harbor town nestled between the mountains and the sea? The great thing about a sailing holiday is, of course, the views of nature and the time you spend with your skipper and crew on the beautiful Mediterranean. With favorable wind and weather conditions, you can also go on holiday in October and enjoy swimming and snorkeling well into autumn. Experienced skippers will teach you the most important techniques, including theoretical knowledge, and allow you to gain hands-on experience. It’s like a small sailing school where you practice real maneuvers directly on a sailboat in the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean. Where time stands still
Sailing around Mallorca in one week? Yes, that’s possible. One of the neighboring highlights is Portocolom, a small harbor town on the east coast. With around 4,000 residents and a rocky shoreline featuring a large, naturally curved bay that reaches inland, this charming town should definitely be part of your sailing itinerary. Some even claim that Christopher Columbus was born here. Whether true or not, Portocolom is best described as a picturesque fishing village with its colorful doors and windows lining the historic port area called “Es Riuetó.” At the port, you’ll also find traditional boathouses, known as “barraques,” with brightly painted wooden doors, as well as small classic fishing boats called “llauts,” still powered by diesel engines. Towering cliffs up to 42 meters high frame a string of small coves that are stunningly beautiful – like pearls on a necklace: Cala Marçal, S’Arenal, and many other secluded bays that are only accessible by boat. From the harbor, you can also join sailing excursions or mini sailing trips. So: Off to Portocolom – a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of Palma. Sail Mallorca with us!
